Renae Buschling will be running Cross Country and Track at Missouri State University in Springfield. Buschling signed her letter of intent on Tuesday, April 21.
Clark County High School held its 2015 Prom Michael Enger was named King, and Sarah St. Clair was named this year’s Prom Queen.

Retirees Honored: The Clark R-1 School District’s Staff Recognition Banquet honored eleven retirees from the school district. They are: Jane Morris, Jackie Stammeyer, Jan Nelson, Carol Nimmo, Delbert Parsons, Daryll Calvert, Monte Morris, Roger Nimmo, Joan Boudreau, Carolyn LaFrenz, Sam LaFrenz.
State Ratings: Four Clark County R-1 high school students received one ratings as soloists at the State Competition, held Friday, April 29, at the University of Columbia. Michael Scott and Kevin Jerez both won in vocal categories, Greg Penehar on trumpet, and Krystina Mohr on clarinet.
Mushroom Season: George Regennitter recently found 17 pounds of mushrooms and among them was one 9.5 inches in length. George gladly gave away his secret hideout – just north of St. Louis Missouri, and just south Des Moines, Iowa.

The Clark County Nursing Home board has accepted a bid from Justice and Dean to build a 20-unit Residential Care Facility.
The Salvation army has allocated funds to assist in the completion of the Alexandria Community Center.
A vote recount confirmed the failure of the safety center issue to pass.

Two men were injured in separate turkey hunting accidents last week in Clark County. On April 23 at 6 a m., Kevin Malone, 19, of Kahoka was accidentally shot by David Whitaker 30, of Kahoka. The accident occurred on the Steve Gregory farm east of Kahoka. On April 24 at 7:08 a.m., Jerry Toops was accidentally shot by Glen Haage of Wayland. He is listed in fair condition. The accident occurred on the Dave Wood farm north of Wayland

A fire gutted the one-story from home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Chewning of Revere, Tuesday at noon. The family was away at the time.
Competing in the state music competition at Columbia, Rosemary Regan received a I for her flute solo, accompanied by Karen Derrick. Eddie Lentz received a II rating on his piano solo, and Susan Lipper, Diane Pepple, and Eddie Lentz earned a II rating for or their clarinet trio.
Hilborn Higbee was honored for 25 years of service to the Soil District Board.

This might be the year that any good crop is worth twice the price of the land.
