MOTHER DAUGHTER DUOS PERFORM WITH GREAT RIVER PLAYERS: Malachi and Payton Eddleman and Lynne Barbour and Samantha Norman are part of the Great River Players production of Thoroughly Modern Millie. The mothers and daughters have been rehearsing diligently since February and would love for you to take in a show.
The Clark County Nursing Home held a “Senior” prom on Friday, May 1st. The event, which was sponsored by the therapy department, was a huge success. Named as the 2015 Prom Queen and King were Marie White and Jay Nixon.
INDIAN ACE TAKES THE HILL: Cyrus Phillips struck out 11 batters against Schuyler County, then followed up by fanning four Knox County hitters during a 9-2 loss at Knox County. Phillips pitched the maximum ten innings allowed by MSHSAA rules in a three-day span.
Exchange Bank of Northeast Missouri hosted hundreds of visitors on Sunday afternoon as it held an Open House to celebrate the opening of its new bank building visitors were given behind-the scenes tours and refreshments were served.

House Fire: The Fire Department was called to a fire on East Main Street in Kahoka late Monday evening, May 9th. No other details were available at press time.
Prom Royalty: Ashley Ames and Gary Shaw were named Clark County High School Prom and Queen and King for 2005. Prom was held Saturday, May 7.
Ames is the daughter of Wes Ames and Cherri Sedor, and Shaw is the son of Bobby and Mindy Shaw.
The Sirens Work: A few County Chamber of Commerce Board members were on hand for the first test of Kahoka’s new storm warning sirens. The sirens were tested on Tuesday afternoon, May 10. The Chamber received an $18,400 USDA Rural Development grant to get the project started.

The Clark County Campus Bowl team placed fourth in state competition. Senior Gabriel Cooper was named to the All-State Championship team.
Kahoka Chapter 40 welcomed District Deputy Grand Matron Kathy Frazier on her official visit, April 27.

Lawrence Heimer, 17, of Wyaconda was shot in the abdomen, and is in serious condition, during an argument with James Krutcher, 23, of Kahoka.
Lori Pepple received an award for outstanding musician of the senior class at Culver-Stockton College.

The home of the Carl Boyd family was completely destroyed by fire, with all contents, Tuesday morning, April 29. The family were away at the time.
The Marching band of the University of Missouri-Columbia was named the official Bicentennial band of the State of Missouri.
The Clark County State of Missouri Extension Council presented their “Heritage ’76” record to Sever Memorial Library.

The John Biggerstaff family, forced from their home hnear Gregory by flood waters, and living temporarily in a rented home belonging to Edna White, located southeast of Kahoka, lost all their belongings when the two-story frame structure burned.
