Two Injured in Rear-End Crash East of Kahoka

CLARK COUNTY, Mo. — Two Hamilton, Illinois, women sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle crash Friday afternoon on U.S. Highway 136, three miles east of Kahoka.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2007 Honda CR-V driven by a 74-year-old Hamilton woman slowed for a stopped vehicle when it was struck from behind by a 2015 Buick Encore. The Encore was driven by a 21-year-old woman from Wayland.
The impact caused serious injuries to the Honda driver and a 71-year-old passenger, also from Hamilton. Both were transported by Clark County Ambulance to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Illinois.
The Buick driver suffered minor injuries and was taken to the same hospital by private vehicle.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene. The crash occurred around 3:10 p.m. and was investigated by Trooper Horrell of Troop B, with assistance from the Clark County Sheriff’s Department, Kahoka Police Department, Kahoka Fire and Rescue, and Clark County Ambulance.
