Four young performers from Missouri have been cast in the upcoming youth production of Once Upon a Mattress, presented by the Marilyn Hart Children’s Theatre. Piper Brookhart and Myarra Greer of Kahoka, Olivia Swindler of Alexandria, and Callie Harper of Palmyra will portray Ladies in Waiting in the youth edition of the beloved Broadway musical.
The show will be staged at the Grand Theatre in Keokuk, with performances on Friday, June 27 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 28 at 2 p.m. Admission is by free-will donation.
The Marilyn Hart Children’s Theatre offers three Summer Youth Programs each year for students in grades 1 through 12 from across the tristate area. Participation is free of charge, and students learn theatre etiquette, stage directions, teamwork, and performance skills—all while preparing a full musical production. Proceeds from the performances help fund the following year’s programs.
