Clark County graduate Jessica Roberts reached base in both plate appearances in the first of the 2015 Illinois vs. Missouri Senior Softball Salute at Quincy. Roberts doubled in her first at bat. Jessica Roberts is headed to John Wood Community College to play softball in 2016.
The small animal barn of the Clark County Fairgrounds has been expanded by the hard work of dozens of volunteers and the generosity of the Clark County community. Fifty-six pens and a new concrete floor have been installed in the the newly expanded small animal barn at the Clark County Fairgrounds.

July 13, 2005Ida Lou Ross of Kahoka had the privilege to play the pipe organ in the nearly 1000 year old Imperial Speyer Dom in Germany, as part of the Mark Twain Chorale International tour. At least eight emperors and kings are buried in the church. Construction began on the Dom in 1030 AD.
Water rates in Kahoka could increase by as much a 35% if the City council approves the proposed new water rates.
Dale at Priebe hosted the south east Iowa antique car club meeting in Kahoka. Members from Iowa and Missouri attended the meeting held Tuesday, July 5.
“We hope to start the building of this season,” Protect Manager Mike Miller told The Media in an interview last week.
The perennial garden of Clark County held their second annual Garden tour on Saturday, July 2.

The evening of July 4 a Santa Fe train made an emergency stop near Dumas Creek because several four wheelers were being ridden too near the railroad tracks.
Employed by the Missouri highway department since 1961, Howard Hyde of Luray has retired.

Tim Kelly named most valuable player at the all-star baseball game, June 29, in Wayland.

Victor Schorr 19, of St. Cloud Minnesota, drowned Saturday evening in a lake near St. Cloud. Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. James Schorr of Canton.
Jill Anderson, Lynn Eder, and Jan Webber, all from Clark County, attended the Missouri freedom forum at the Military Academy at Mexico.
Susan Gutting and Delma Treece attended Missouri Girls State at Stephens College, Columbia

July 9, 1965
Edgar Brammer and Marvin Hudson of Wayland, were injured by a cherry bomb tossed from a car, Saturday afternoon, in Wayland. The men were sitting on a bench and the bomb landed In
Brammer’s lap. As he attempted to toss it away, it exploded making it necessary to amputate a finger and injuring the rest of his left hand. Hudson received a deep wound in the leg.
Several mailboxes have been damaged, recently, by cherry bombs.
A new Baptist parsonage to be constructed on Murphy Street Kahoka.

More fittingly described as the temporary “home of the departed,” and named, Gutting’s Funeral Home is progressing toward its new status. The finished product will be a modern funeral home, wherein people going hence may be all dressed up with some place to go.
