The University of Missouri Extension’s Pearls of Production program is excited to announce its upcoming schedule of events designed to support and empower women in livestock industry. The 2025 lineup features a “Pixels of Production” virtual webinar series and an in-person hands-on conference on November 8 in Columbia, Missouri.
Pearls of Production helps women gain science-based knowledge, practical production skills, and valuable connections in the agriculture industry.
Pixels of Production: Virtual Webinars
The “Pixels of Production” series includes four evening webinars, each beginning with “Chick-Chat” at 6:40 pm, a 20-minute networking opportunity where attendees can connect with other women in agriculture. The main session begins at 7:00 pm with the Zoom link being shared upon registration.
July 22 – Feeding and Managing Pregnant Beef Cows and Heifers for Calf Success
Dr. Allison Meyer discusses how late gestation nutrition affects cow performance and calf health.
September 23 – Does Your Herd Have Gut Issues?
Dr. Andrea Pitkin highlights SRP vaccine technology and strategies to promote gut health and reduce disease.
October 28 – Heroes to Hives: Helping Veterans and Women Producers Establish Beekeeping
Joni Harper shares how beekeeping can support wellness and diversify farm income.

In-Person Conference: November 8 in Columbia
Join us in Columbia on Friday, November 8, for a full-day, hands-on conference. Breakout sessions will cover topics such as how vaccines are made, tips for a successful calving season, small ruminant neonatal care, Heroes to Hives veteran beekeeping program, using genetics to build a better cow, and emergency response on the farm.
A “Lunch and Learn” session will connect participants with NRCS, FSA, and Soil and Water Conservation District representatives to learn about farm funding and support programs.
