Clark County Player Missouri MVP: LaGrange University bound Cyrus Phillips was named Missouri MVP of the Third Annual Illinois vs. Missouri All-Star baseball game at Hannibal. Cyrus Phillips was 2-3 at bat with two RBI’s along with a ninth inning pinch hit appearance. Phillips reached base on an error.
Gov. Jay Nixon today appointed Anthony (Tony) R. Daniel, of Kahoka as the new Clark County Assessor. The position became vacant upon the resignation of Donna Oilar.
Fire destroyed Ott’s Auto Supply in Kahoka last Tuesday morning, July 7. Kahoka Police arrested Dominic Egley, 27, of Kahoka in connection with the suspected burglary and arson of the business.

Emotions ran high at the Luray #3 school board meeting held Thursday, July 14, as board member Kevin Tripp presented a petition to the board to annex the Luray District into the Clark County R-1 district.
Mosquitoes carrying the West Nile virus were discovered in Clark County.
The St. Francisville Masonic Lodge presented the Clark County Nutrition Site a check for $2700 to be used towards the purchase of a new stove.
Fashion Review: 12 Clark County 4-H members took part in the 2005 fashion review and achievement night Wednesday, July 13. Alyssa Redding (alternate) Bryanna Redding, Kelsey Arnold, Elsa Scott, and Tessa Oilar (alternate).
The Clark County Local Emergency Planning Committee voted to purchase a hazmat shower system.

The Clark County fair will feature the Jim Ed Brown show on Saturday night.
Two stolen autos, from Alexandria and Keokuk have been found near Kahoka, one abandoned, the other wrecked.

The new Kahoka Motel, operated by Jerry Childress, is open for business.
More than 100 feet of chain was removed from a sewer line in the alley between Main and Exchange St., Wednesday morning. The chain had apparently been in the sewer for many years.
Wanda Jackson to replace Roy Acuff at Clark County fair. Acuff was critically injured, Saturday, in an auto accident.
Kay Hutchinson, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. BF Hutchinson of Wyaconda, is on an eight week tour of Europe.
Happiness is dropping in on a neighbor and finding her house messier than yours.
