State Fair Farm Family: The Chris and Courtney Kirchner family was named the 2015 Clark County State Fair Farm Family at the Extension Council Picnic held Thursday, July 16.
Missouri state Auditor Nicole Galloway has announced the start of an audit of the Village of Luray, located in Clark County.
Tony Daniel was sworn in as Clark County’s new Assessor on Monday morning. Administering the oath was County Clerk Jena Church. Daniel was appointed by Gov. Jay Nixon to replace Donna Oilar who retired last spring.

Jeff and Karen Arnold and their children Erick and Kelsey were selected as the 2005 state fair farm family for Clark County.
Kahoka police chief Steve Edlen was arrested in Chillicothe, Missouri and charged with possession of controlled substance with intent to distribute a quantity of marijuana.
Kelsey Davis, a student at Clark County high school will attend the girls state.

Mrs. Dolly Beard, 75, of near Wayland, lost her life in a home fire early Sunday morning.

Don and Kae and Glasgow open Village Inn Pizza in Kahoka.
The chinch bug menace of the country seems to be on the wane. Glory be!
Adam, first in the line of man, is buried close to Bethany. At least this is held to be true by the Mormons, here in the United States. On a high river bluff, the pile of stones marks the spot where they believe Adam is buried. Nearby can be seen the remains of what was once a big Mormon Village.

A rabid skunk was killed at the Harold Foglesong home near Chambersburg. The animal had bitten a sow, two dogs and two cats.
Attending a cheerleading camp at Marshall were varsity squad members Glenda Gates, Rosemary Regan, Natalie Arnold, Diane Pagel, Sherry Egley, and Paula Rainbolt; Junior varsity squad members Chris McAndrew, Laurie McAndrew, June LeMaster, Julie King, and Carole Harper.

The city of Kahoka was recognized by Auto Club of Missouri as being on the 1964 Honor Roll of cities for outstanding performance in safety for children of school age.

Richard Roller had an artery severed in his arm when a heavy piece of metal fell on it, while working on the Pepsi addition in Memphis.

August 1, 1930
Miss Catherine Mudd of Edina, bookkeeper at Kahoka Motor Company, drowned in Baring Lake, Sunday.
Alexandria: the drought is the worst ever known this early in the season, here. We have had no rain this month and the thermometer reached 107 and 109 on different days.
Down in Arkansas, a man was tried for assault and battery with intent to kill. The state produced as evidence the weapons used, a gun, a rail, a saw, and rifle. The defense counsel exhibited as the other man’s weapons a scythe blade, pitchfork, pistol, dog razor and hoe. After being out several hours, the jury gave this verdict, “We the jury, would have given a dollar to see this fight.”
