MARGERY RUTH (BAIR) HAMNER
Margery Ruth (Bair) Hamner, known to many as our beloved “Ruthie” of Luray, Missouri, passed away at the age of 82 on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026, at Scotland County Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Ruthie was born on February 9th, 1944, in Detroit, Michigan, to William Cresswell and Margery Jane (Huchinson) Bair. She graduated from Kahoka High School in 1962. She was united in marriage to Oval Eugene Hamner and to this union; 3 sons were born.
Ruthie lived life full of vim and vigor and those who knew her witnessed that spunky personality, witty comments but a real straight shooter from the heart. She was adored and loved by all that knew her. She will be remembered for her creative and artistic skills that have graced several homes in her lifetime. From Christmas Ornaments to Wedding Candles, it was that special gift that we will all be able to cherish for years to come.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Lee Hamner, a brother Bill Bair and a brother-in law Ron Hamner.
Ruthie is survived by her sons Opie Hamner of Luray, MO., Bill (Margie) Hamner of Thousand Oaks, CA., a daughter through love, Michele (Bryan) Johnston, 3 brothers Gene (Shirley) Bair, Mark (Kris) Bair, Jimmy (Cindy) Bair, her sisters Mary Hamner, Mila (Marshall) Suddarth, Mary J. Parker, Grandchildren Brad (Jasmine) Hamner, Ben (Amy) Hamner, Chris Hamner, Justin Hamner, Derick Hamner, Andrea Hamner and Kailey Jones. Great Grandchildren Hayden, Hank, Sophie, Madelyn, Remington, Rhett, Wesson, Avery, Amelia and one more on the way along with several nieces, nephews and extended family.
A special thanks to the medical staff of Scotland County Memorial Hospital along with our gratitude and love to Michele Johnston, Ronda Sommers and Janie Horton for their loving hand and guidance towards the end.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Combs Cemetery and may be mailed or left at Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, 975 East Main St., Kahoka, MO 63445. Per her wishes, there will be a private burial by invitation only at a later date.
