Kahoka Man Wins Hannibal Cannibal 5K
Saturday, July 4th marked the 31st running of the Hannibal Cannibal and the heat and humidity didn’t slow down the participants of this year’s race. This year’s event was a huge success and saw nearly 1,900 participants from 29 states, the United Kingdom and New Zealand. The race raised over $80,000 for Hannibal Regional’s Legacy of Hope Campaign. These funds will be used in Hannibal to assist with purchasing a new linear accelerator along with building renovations at the Cary Cancer Center and in Kirksville to help with the construction of a new cancer center to provide radiation oncology.
Overall winners for this year include: 5K Males: 1st place, Brytin Wilson of Kahoka, MO at 18:34; 2nd place Daytona Blaine of Brookfield, MO at 18:38 and 3rd place Rhett Hayes of Hannibal, MO at 18:55. 5K Females: 1st place, Tabi Fox of Edmond, OK at 20:23; 2nd place, Kaylyn Forbis of Barry, IL at 21:26 and 3rd place, Jocelyn Dorsey of Hannibal, MO at 21:49. 10K Males: 1st place, Ryan Humphreys of Hannibal, MO at 38:31; 2nd place, Joe Warning of Quincy, IL at 39:14 and 3rd place, Dryst Bostick of Centralia, MO at 40:08. 10K females: 1st place, Erica Lindsay of St. Peters, MO at 43:11; 2nd place, Kindel Kester of Coatsburg, IL at 48:31 and 3rd place, Ava Bonvillian of Hannibal, MO at 51:50. 15K males: 1st place, Jacob Blassingame of St. Charles, MO at 53:13; 2nd place, Dominic Buckman of Webster Grove, MO at 55:49 and 3rd place, Charles Ray of Quincy, IL at 1:00:13. 15K Females: 1st place, Millie Cavanagh of Sedalia, MO at 1:16:49; 2nd place Brooke Klein of Silex, MO at 1:18:16 and 3rd place, Kelli Lunt of Quincy, IL at 1:22:56.
