On Friday, November 1, Kahoka Chapter #40, Order of the Eastern Star will be hosting a free will donation spaghetti dinner fundraiser at the Clark County Senior Center from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The menu for the evening will be spaghetti with the option of meat or meatless sauce, garlic bread, and cake for dessert. Takeouts will also be available for those who wish to grab food and go. Kahoka Chapter #40, OES will be partnering with the Masonic Home Outreach again and utilizing their Masonic Home’s Create a Partnership Program. All of the proceeds from the spaghetti dinner will be double matched by the Masonic Home’s Create a Partnership Program and go towards purchasing choir performance attire. This year’s OES Worthy Matron is Amanda McCreedy. According to Amanda, the chapter decided to focus on raising funds for the choir performance attire because theywanted to help the older students in the community. In previous years, the chapter has helped raise funds to purchase curtains for the stage at the Clark County Middle School, playground equipment at Black Hawk Elementary School, and shade over the playground at the Indian Pride Learning Center. “The high school is a part of our community that our fundraisers haven’t gotten to help yet. I also feel that this is a group that hasn’t gotten to benefit from other fundraisers in the community, so this is a way to help them out financially along with bringing attention to a very talented group of students who will feel more confident in their talents with something new,” Amanda said. The Clark County Senior Center is located at 222 North Lincoln Street in Kahoka, MO. Everyone is invited to come enjoy the spaghetti dinner on Friday, November 1. All donations will be greatly appreciated to help provide the choir with new performance attire. Anyone unable to attend, can give donations to any OES member. Donations can also be mailed to Kahoka Chapter #40 OES, Shawn McAfee, Secretary at 22060 County Road 174, Kahoka, MO 63445.
