GLASGOW, Mo. — Clark County High School qualified eight athletes and two relay teams for the sectional round after a strong showing at the Class 2 District 3 track and field meet held Saturday in Glasgow. The top four finishers in each event earned advancement to next Saturday’s sectional meet.
On the boys side, senior Mason McDaniel led the way with three top-three finishes. McDaniel won the 3,200-meter runin 10:22.16, placed second in the 1,600 meters with a time of 4:37.80, and finished third in the 800 meters in 2:03.21.
The boys 4×800-meter relay team also took first place, clocking in at 8:31.81, while the 4×400 relay team claimed second with a time of 3:39.78.
In the field events, Brennan Fuller qualified with a second-place finish in the long jump at 6.31 meters, and Avery Biggerstaff earned second in the discus with a throw of 42.77 meters.
On the girls team, Ava McKay secured a district title in the pole vault, clearing 3.00 meters. She narrowly missed a second qualification with a sixth-place finish in the long jump.
