This week our Summer Reading Program leaders were Stacia Briscoe, Nurse Practitioner Quincy Medical Group, and Lauren Tallman, Registered Nurse with Blessing Hospital. Miss Lauren read several good books to the boys and girls and Miss Stacia showed her stethoscope, ear light and blood pressure devices to them. There were lots of questions about shots and visits to the doctor! Thank you to Miss Stacia and Miss Lauren for a very educational program. The winner of the drawing for the book, “I Want to Be a Doctor” was Kamrie James, daughter of Ashley and Robert James.
The winners of the weekly prize were Corban, Rex and Andon Horrell, sons of Brittney and Zach Horrell.
Come sign up for our Summer Reading Program. There are categories of Read to Me (for those not reading on their own), Read (for early readers who read on their own) and the Five Book Challenge; each child may participate in one of these reading categories. There will be a new category – Classic Challenge – for older readers. We have added another category for our readers. It is for those who qualify for Read called Library Selections and there are certain books that the librarians can share with the boys and girls to read. There will also be trading cards of all of our readers for the boys and girls to collect and see who has the most at the end of the summer. There will be fun prizes and drawings at the end of the summer for our readers!
