SAMUEL G. “SAM” CLOSTERMERY
Samuel G. “Sam” Clostermery, 68, of Wyaconda, passed away at his home Sunday evening, January 19, 2020 in Wyaconda.
Sam was born October 30, 1951, the son of George F. and Wanda W. (Robison) Clostermery in Mt. Sterling, Illinois. He attended Carthage High School. Sam loved hunting, fishing, his dog Griz and living in Missouri. He also loved spending time with his family and friends and was very protective of them. Sam had been a drag racer and was a motorcycle enthusiast, especially Harley-Davidsons.
Sam is survived by a son, Cory (Jennifer) Clostermery of Carthage; a daughter, Mandy (Darrel) Curfman of Carthage; grandchildren, Mercedes (Dantwon) Jackson, Makenzie and Gavin Curfman and Caitlin, Jacob and Cara Clostermery; great grandchildren, Tatum, Audrina and Kingston Jackson; two brothers, Joseph (Alfonso Saavedra) Clostermery of Chicago and Raymond Clostermery of Beardstown; numerous nieces and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00 P.M. Friday, January 24, 2020 at Printy Funeral Home in Carthage. Family will meet friends from 4:00 P.M. until time of services at 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Inurnment will be held at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the family of Samuel G. Clostermery for funeral expenses. Printy Funeral Home of Carthage is in charge of arrangements.
