SHARON LEE SMITH
Mrs. Sharon Lee Smith, 79, of West Burlington, died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Great River Medical Center.
Born May 15, 1940 in Luray, MO, she was the daughter of Delbert Wayne and Marjorie Maxine (Locke) Weller. She married James Smith on June 25,1979 in Kahoka, MO. He died April 29, 2010.
She attended school in Luray, MO and worked as a C.N.A. at Great River Klein Center and Hope Haven, retiring April 30, 2010.
Sharon was of the Christian faith.
She enjoyed crocheting and researching genealogy. She loved get-togethers with family, being outdoors, and spending time with her dogs.
Survivors include children, Ernest W. (Linda) Miller of Farmington, IA, Cheryl L. Hollenbeck of West Burlington, Rodney L. (Sandra) Miller of Jacksonville, NC, Donald D. Miller of Pocahontas, IA, Susan E. (Randel) Swank, Sandra J. Miller, and Amy J. (Eric Fritz) Miller, all of West Burlington; three step-children, Curtis W. Smith of Florida, Pamela S. (Dean) Johnson of Danville, IA, and Robert L. Smith of West Burlington; thirty five grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Lois J. Herring of rural Luray, MO; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a son, a daughter, two grandsons, and a brother and two sisters in infancy.
The funeral service for Mrs. Smith will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 9that Lunning Chapel. Rev. Dan Buck will officiate. Interment will be in Green Glade Cemetery, Farmington, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to service.
A memorial has been established for Great River Hospice House.
