IDA PEARL GORRELL FRANKS

Mrs. Pearl Franks, age 91, of Canton, MO passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020 in the Lewis County Nursing Home at Canton, MO.

Pearl was born May 18, 1929 in the Bluff Springs area of Clark County, Missouri the eldest  daughter of Charles Allan and F. Mae Clark Gorrell.

She graduated from Gravel Hill school in Clark County, Canton High School in Lewis County and after 40 years, from Culver-Stockton College in Canton.

While in school Pearl and her sister were young attendants at the family business, Gorrell’s Station eleven miles north of Canton.  

She later worked at Lewis County Motor Co. 1953-1962, at Culver-Stockton College 1966-2005 in the business office, then in administration services office.  

She was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church in Canton, and was a past member of the Canton Women’s Club, Order of Eastern Star and Daughters of the American Revolution and the Lewis County Historical Society. 

 She was an accomplished seamstress and loved baking cookies for others.  

Her interests included photography, traveling, reading, visiting and entertaining family and friends.   

She was united in marriage to Edward H. Franks and they were the parents of two daughters, Michele (Brian) Munzlinger of Williamstown, MO and Lisa Renee Gorrell of St. Louis, MO and fiancée Jim Hus; two grandchildren, Clint (Crystal) Munzlinger of Lexington, MO and Lea (Billy Joe) Rash of Williamstown, MO; two great grandchildren, Raylan Rash and Cord Munzlinger; one sister, Elaine Gorrell of Canton and numerous other relatives.  

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Private family services and burial will be held at Bluff Spring Cemetery near Canton.

The family suggests memorials be made to Immanuel United Methodist Church or to Culver-Stockton College in care of Davis Funeral Home, Canton, MO.
