Tom Worrell
Tom Worrell, 69, of Kahoka died Tuesday, December 14, 2021 at his home.
He was born May 8, 1952 in Keokuk, the son of Roland and Mavis Yates Worrell.
Tom graduated from Clark County R-1 High School with the Class of 1970. He then graduated from Linn State Technical School with an electrical engineering degree in 1972.
Tom was united in marriage to Kim Madden in August 1974 in Wayland, MO. They later divorced in 1994. He later married JoAnn Prough on December 20.
Tom had been employed with Midwest Carbide for 35 years until the plant closed. He was then employed with Clark County R-1 School District as a groundskeeper until his retirement in 2021. He was also a farmhand for Woodruff Farms throughout the years.
He enjoyed hunting, making bloody marys, fishing with his best friend JoAnn and playing cards. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and a huge Nascar fan. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by two sons, Brandon Worrell (Darnell) of Pittsburg, KS, and Bronson Worrell of Kahoka, MO, a daughter, Linzi Terpenning (CW) of Muscatine, IA; a step-daughter, Staci Thompson of Keosauqua, IA, twelve grandchildren, Taylor, Vanessa, Paige, Alexander, Cameron, Keegan, Kimberlin, Dakota, Annakah, Braxton, Trinity and Tyler. He is also survived by his companion JoAnn Prough of Kahoka, his sister, Peggy Strahlman (Wayne) of Yarmouth; a brother, Keith Worrell (Teresa) of Kahoka; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Kenneth Worrell; and a nephew, Eric Strahlman.
A gathering of remembrance will be held from 2 – 4 p.m. Saturday at the Vigen Memorial Home in Kahoka with the family meeting with friends at that time.
