Robert “Bob” Marvin Wilsey, Sr.
Robert “Bob” Marvin Wilsey, Sr., 89 of Keokuk died Wednesday, March 2, 2022 at the Southeast Iowa Regional Medical Center in Ft. Madison, IA.
He was born on June 7, 1932 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Marvin and Ruby Benjamin Wilsey.
On August 14, 1952, Bob was united in marriage to Elizabeth “Bette” Rose Gates in Keokuk. She preceded him in death on September 30, 2015.
Bob had been employed by Keokuk Steel Castings, Tri State Window and most recently by the Keokuk Community School District where he worked in the Maintenance Department and as a bus driver.
He was a member of First Christian Church in Keokuk.
Bob was a talented woodworker. He enjoyed go kart races, stock car races and especially loved watching his grandchildren race. He also enjoyed attending horse races with his son, Rob.
He is survived by one daughter, Jan Wilsey of Keokuk, one son, Robert Wilsey, Jr. (Michele) of Keokuk, four grandchildren, Joel Wilsey, Heather Baum (Jake), Sierra Wilsey and Kailey Wilsey, six great-grandchildren, Natalie, Payton, Brielle, Racyn, Brynzlei, and RowdyJo. He is also survived by three brothers, Jim Wilsey (Cherie) of Keokuk, Carl Wilsey (Karen) of Kahoka, MO and Bernard Wilsey (Carol) of Keokuk and several nieces, nephews and close friends including Donnie Skinner.
Besides his wife, he was also preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Cathy, several brothers and sisters, close family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, at the Vigen Memorial Home in Keokuk, IA with Brian Nixon officiating.
Visitation will be held prior to the service on Monday from 1-2 p.m., at the funeral home with the family meeting with friends at that time.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the Frazee Cemetery in Alexandria, MO.
