SANDRA SUE SCHMITZ

Sandra Sue Schmitz, age 84, of Shelbina, MO, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2023 at Salt River Community Care in Shelbina, MO.

Sandy was born on November 17, 1938 in Astoria, IL, the daughter of Clair Woodrow and Ethel (Painter) Etter.

Sandy is survived by four children, Bruce Schuman (Darla) Of Chattanooga, TN, Darren Schuman (Patricia) of Republic, MO, Rhonda Sue St. Clair (Tim) of Kahoka, MO, and Dustin Schmitz (April) of Shelbina, MO; 17 grandchildren, Brad, Brian, Leslie, Rachael, Lauren, Bryce, Justin, Matthew, Zachery, Nathan, Sarah, Jena, Adam, Cady, Brittani, Dakota, and Colt; 13 great-grandchildren; and one brother, David Etter (Susi) of WI.

She is preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Ron Schuman, Jr, and Steven Schuman; and one brother, Dennis Etter.

Sandy was a member of the United Methodist Church of Shelbina. She was a past President of the Resident Council at Salt River Community Care. Sandy enjoyed playing cards, going to country music shows, dancing, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at 11 am at Greening-Eagan- Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10 am until the time of the service. Burial will be held at Shelbina Cemetery in Shelbina, MO. Memorials may be made to the Salt River Community Care.
