Rosalind (Kowniak) Bronk

Rosalind (Kowniak) Bronk was born September 11, 1936, in Cudahy, Wisconsin, the daughter of Carl and Josephine (Traczinski) Kowniak. She passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the Montgomery County Memorial Hospital in Red Oak, Iowa at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 3 days.

Rosalind attended school through the seventh grade. In November of 1952, she was united in marriage to Walter Bronk in Cudahy, Wisconsin. This union was blessed with six children. Walter and Rosalind made their home in Kahoka, Missouri, where she worked as a housekeeper in a local nursing home. Rosalind was a proud member of the Kahoka Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed singing, crocheting and puzzles. She was known to hide puzzle pieces so she could place the last piece. Rosalind had a sweet tooth and loved candy, especially Tootsie Rolls. She enjoyed the birds in her yard and would get mad at the squirrels for eating the bird seed she put out. Rosalind was also known for having a well-kept house.  Her greatest joy was attending the activities of her children and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her parents; all of her siblings; her daughter, Debra Jenkins; and her son, Jeffry Allen Bronk. Survivors include her four sons, Michael Bronk (Barbara) of Olympia, WA, Thomas Bronk (Sharon Felt) of Red Oak, IA, Terry Bronk (Valorie Norton) of Earlville, IL, Jerome Bronk (Valerie) of Bennett, CO; eleven grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; along with other relatives and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at the Kahoka Presbyterian Church with inurnment in the Kahoka City Cemetery.
