 ELMER L. “TED” WOODSMALL JR. 

Elmer L. “Ted” Woodsmall Jr., 70, of Kahoka, passed away at 8:27 pm on Sunday, August 27, 2023. He was born on March 6, 1953, in Keokuk, Iowa, the son of the late Elmer and Delphine (Hornsey) Woodsmall and was raised by Albert and Hazel Crandal. Elmer attended Kahoka High School and graduated in 1972. He married Connie (Eder) Woodsmall July 20, 1974 at the United Methodist Church in Wayland and she preceded him in death March 25, 2023. 

Ted was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Wayland and enjoyed being with his church family. He was a very kindhearted man and always ready and willing to help anyone. He was also a member of the Clark County Rescue Squad and the Wayland Fire Dept. He always enjoyed a novel by Stephen King and deer hunting. 

Ted is survived by his sister-in-law; Charlotte Loter of Polk city, Iowa, uncle; Francis Eder of East Moline, IL; special friend, Dewey Frey of Wayland, MO and several cousins. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; Connie, his in-laws; Ronnie and Betty Eder; a son in infancy, Albert Eugene Woodsmall. 

A Memorial Service honoring Ted’s life was conducted at 10:30 am on Sunday, September 3, 2023, at the First Baptist Church of Wayland during regular church service. Family and Friends were invited to attend. Pastor Dan Deatrick will officiate. Inurnment at a later date in Frazee Cemetery.
