The Clark County Indians dominated sprints, relays and distance events at the Class 2 Sectional held Saturday at South Callaway High School in Mokane. With the top four in each event advancing, fourteen Clark County athletes will head to the State Championships next week.
Mizzou-bound Kaden Hamner won the 100 Meter, 200 Meter and 400 Meter races.
Mason McDaniel took gold in bot the 1600 Meter and 3200 Meter races.
All four relay teams will move on to state. The 4×100 team of Jonny Shinn, Konner Westercamp, Callan Wheeler and Kaden Hamner broke their own school record to win gold.
The 4×200 team of Brennan Fuller, Westercamp, Josh Davidson and Lucus Eddleman placed third, and the 4×400 team of Shinn, Gavin Schuetz, Austin Day and Wheeler took fourth. The 4×800 team, consisting of Wheeler, Schuetz, Day and McDaniel.
Clint Chamley won the Discus, and Lucus Eddleman took second in the Long Jump.
Girls heading to state include Maggie Weaver, who took gold in the 800 Meter, and Irelyn Plenge, who place second in Pole Vault.
