SUE HARRIS DIXON
Sue Harris Dixon, 80, passed away Thursday, June 6, 2024, at her home in College Station, TX, with her family by her side. Sue was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, June 15, 1943, and was the daughter of Cecil Harris and Betty Harris, who preceded her in death. She married James E. Dixon on August 8, 1970. He preceded her in death on April 20, 1979.
Sue is survived by her three children: John Felter and his wife Jodie Felter of Taylor, MO, Brett Dixon and his wife Heidi Dixon of College Station, TX, and Shawna Dixon of Houston, TX; seven grandchildren: Kirk Kipfer and his wife Tanya Kipfer of Spartanburg, SC, Dallas Yorek and her husband Christopher Yorek of Conroe, TX, Corey Felter and his wife Aimee Felter, of St. Louis, MO, Collin Felter, of Irvine, CA, Brayton Dixon, Walker Dixon, and Wyatt Dixon, of College Station, TX; six great-grandchildren: Cayden Yorek, Remington Kipfer, Blake Yorek, Eliana Kipfer, Thomas Kipfer, and Lucas Kipfer, and her two sisters: Jo Ann Crane and her husband Bradley Crane of Marthasville, MO, and Cecelia Long and her husband Richard Long, of Alton, VA. Sue was preceded in death by her two brothers: Richard Harris and Philip Harris.
Sue loved the Lord, her family, and helping others. She was a member of First Baptist Church of College Station until her passing and volunteered in various outreach ministries over the years. She served in the US Army before eventually fulfilling her dream of becoming a nurse. She will be remembered for being a wonderful mother, grandmother, sister, neighbor and friend. Sue will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Sue will be interred in the family plot in Wyaconda, MO. A celebration of life will be held at the New Woodville Cemetery in Wyaconda on August 10, 2024, at 11 am.
