Harry Verlin Alderton

H. Verlin Alderton, 89, of Bella Vista, AR passed away on October 18, 2024. Verlin embraced his life guided by a quote once shared by Mother Teresa: “If you want to change the world, go home and love your family.” While the world continued to change all around him, he never lost sight of that fundamental value. While he achieved great success in his business career with Moore Business Forms, upon retirement, he donated all his suits to charity and invested his retirement years driving about as a handyman, helping anyone in need. If they could afford it, he charged $8 per hour. If not, he would help his church and anyone for free. Verlin loved the Lord, loved his family, and loved his neighbors. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Alderton; his mother, Marguerite Alderton of Kahoka, Missouri; his son, Thomas Chris Alderton of Vacaville, California; his sister, Delora Gardner of Webster City, Iowa; and his brother, Merlin Alderton of Mattoon, Illinois. Verlin is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Sylvia Louise Alderton of Bella Vista, Arkansas; his son, Curtis Jay Alderton of Durango, Colorado; daughter-in-law, Janine Sue Alderton of Durango, Colorado; his grandchildren, Joshua Alderton, Melody (Chris) Riedell, Molly (Erick) Morningstar, Josiah (Holly) Alderton, Emily (Chris) Moore, Riley (Kristy) Alderton, and Matthew (Mary de Soto) Alderton; and, his great-grandchildren, Jude Alderton, Asher Alderton, Bella Moore, Milo Riedell, Easton Morningstar, Finlay Alderton, Beau Alderton, Marigold Alderton, Norah Morningstar, Leon Alderton, Indie Mae Alderton, Dominic Alderton, Tucker Alderton, Jovie Alderton and Evelyn Alderton. A memorial service was held at the Bella Vista Baptist Church. The family will be hosting a memorial service next summer in Durango, Colorado.
