Amy Jo (Lewis) Romine

January 27, 1977 – July 31, 2025

Amy Jo (Lewis) Romine, of Kahoka, MO, died on Thursday, July 31, 2025 at Boone Medical Center in Columbia, MO.

Amy was born January 27, 1977 in Keokuk, IA. She married Tom Romine in October 2000, and they later divorced.

Amy attended Running Fox Elementary School, Quartz Hill Elementary in CA, Fowlkes Elementary in TN, and graduated from CC R-1 High School. She later attended Southeast MO State University and graduated with a BS degree in Criminal Justice.

Amy enjoyed being a member and officer in Key Club during her high school years, as well as Drama Club and FTA. She also served as a member and officer of Circle K while at SEMO in Cape Girardeau, MO.

Amy loved helping others – especially children. She worked in MI and MO in the Social Services Dept. serving children. She particularly enjoyed her work as a child advocate within the justice system, and family counseling. Due to chronic health issues, she was forced into an early retirement and was home bound for the later years of her life.

Amy is survived by her parents, Mike and Mary Lewis, and her grandmother, Deloris Laffoon, all of Kahoka, MO; her children, Ashley and Garrett Romine, both of Gainesboro, TN; brother Brian Lewis and sister-in-law Brandi Lewis; two nephews, Skyler and Eli, and one niece, Ashtyn; and lifelong cherished friends Addie Carmon and Mary Beth Mucklow.

Per Amy’s request, there will not be a visitation or a funeral service. There will be a graveside service at a later date, where her cremains will be interred at Sand Cemetery. Memorial donations may be given to Head Start in Wayland, MO, or Canton Key Club.
