Reta Jean Klinginsmith

Reta Jean Klinginsmith, 87, a resident of Cameron, Missouri, Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at her residence with her family by her side.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 14, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at Resthaven Mortuary, Trenton, Missouri. Burial will be in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Trenton, Missouri. Family visitation will be held Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. at the mortuary.

Reta was born January 3, 1939, in Ashton, Missouri the daughter of Lloyd Nixon and Vera L. (Boon) Jones. She attended Kahoka and Unionville, Missouri Schools. Reta married Wayne Klinginsmith June 5, 1955.

She enjoyed making laughter and having fun with family, friends and neighbors who just stopped by to say hi. She loved traveling, shopping, cooking, sewing her hand towels and quilt blocks, and working with all of her house plants. She had many jobs over the years that included cooking, cleaning, caring for the elderly and disabled, factory work, and laundry. Reta retired from the Missouri Veteran’s Home in Cameron Missouri in 2007 where she was the laundry supervisor.

Her survivors include sons, Kenneth (Klink) Klinginsmith, Breckenridge, Missouri; Ronald Klinginsmith and wife Michell, Kearney, Missouri; daughter Anissa Johnson and husband Bud, Cameron, Missouri; sisters Linda Clark and husband Richard, Baring Missouri, Lea Glass and husband Tom, Memphis, Missouri; brother-in-law Bill Humes, Wyaconda, Missouri; grandchildren Justin Klinginsmith, Kelly Lewis and husband Paul III; great grandchildren Paul Lewis IV and Kori Klinginsmith, and one niece, four nephews, and many other family members. Also surviving Reta are friends, Ol’ Pal Sheila Cooper, Caregiver Lynda Kinney, and honorary daughter, Dodie Jo Hagler.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lyle Nixon and wife Rebecca Nixon, sister Lois Humes, sister-in-law Sharon Rouse and husband Richard Rouse.
