Clark County Athletes Turn In Strong CCC Performances

Palmer wins 100-meter dash at Clarence Cannon meet

Clark County’s Cabell Palmer sprinted to a conference title Monday, May 4, winning the girls 100-meter dash at the Clarence Cannon Conference Meet at South Shelby High School in Shelbina.

Palmer won the 100 in 13.42 seconds and added a fourth-place finish in the 200-meter dash in 28.53 seconds. The Indians also picked up several strong field-event performances, including fourth-place finishes from Brooklynn Wallain in the high jump and Kiara Winters in the triple jump.

On the boys side, Mason McDaniel led Clark County’s distance runners with three top-three finishes. McDaniel was second in the 800-meter run in 2:05.56, third in the 1,600 in 4:47.35 and third in the 3,200 in 11:05.58. Lukas Weaver added a pair of runner-up finishes in the jumps, placing second in both the long jump and triple jump. Wyatt Billings was also second in the pole vault, and the boys 4×800-meter relay team placed second.
