Clark County Wins Boys Game at Knox County

Clark County (3-3) took advantage of Knox County turnovers and handed the Eagles a 61-50 setback in non conference varsity boys play at Knox County. The December 8, 2025 contest saw Clark County lead by a 32-20 halftime margin.
Knox County (1-4) fought back late in the game but couldn’t overcome a seven point third quarter deficit. The Indians got off to a good start.
Wyatt Davis hit a Clark County three and sank a driving two pointer for a 12-6 lead late in the first quarter. Carrsen Hayes buried a Knox County three ball with six seconds to play in the period for a 12-9 Indian lead after the first eight minutes.
Corrick Hunziker drove the lane for a 17-9 Clark County lead a minute into the second quarter. Knox County missed four shots during an empty possession on the previous series. Hunziker drove the lane again for a 25-13 lead with 2:51 to play in the second quarter.
Patrick Clark stole the ball for Knox County and fed Cooper Clair for a KCHS bucket with a minute remaining until intermission. Clark County led 29-20. Ried Sammons gave the Indians a 32-20 halftime lead with a three point play at the 1.7 second mark of the second quarter.
Knox County outscored the Indians 13-8 in the third quarter. The Eagles trimmed the Clark County lead to 40-33 entering the fourth quarter. Graton Carper pulled Knox County back within a 43- 38 deficit with 4:59 remaining in the game.
Cooper Clair sank a KCHS three ball with 1:20 to play in the game. Knox County could get no closer and dropped the 61-50 decision. The Indians held an 18-10 advantage in made field goals.
Knox County sank six three balls on the night to three for Clark County. The Indians fared better at the free throw line. Clark County was 16-24 from the line. Knox County sank nine of 24 from the charity stripe.
Reid Sammons led all scorers with 22 Clark County points. Wyatt Davis and Lucas Weaver scored ten Indian points each. Corrick Hunziker scored nine Clark County points.
Cooper Clair led Knox County with 11 points. Alious Hunolt scored nine Eagle points. Patrick Clark and Graton Carper put in eight KCHS points each. Carrsen Hayes and Isaac Shahan added five KC points each.
